I have big plans for a new scrap template - a fun diamond and half-hexagon shape to use for cutting shapes from jelly roll (2 1/2-inch) strips. The biggest challenge with designing a new template is spending time testing it to make sure it's accurate. I have a very high standard of perfection with these templates, plus I want to make them easy to use for quilters of all skill levels.
Plexiglass isn't the only material I can cut on my laser. I've been playing with wood, leather, and fabric. This laser cutter can also engrave materials easily which just makes my head spin with the creative possibilities.
Yes, we're planning to make more Quilting Caddies using the laser cutter to cut the leather soon (video embedded below). I'm hoping to simplify this pattern a bit which will make them easier for us to produce.
That's it for this month's podcast. I hope you're enjoying this beautiful spring. I am filled with gratitude to have both kids on the move (Betty crawling, James driving!) and to be working with Josh and making progress on many beautiful projects and creative quilts.
Let's go quilt,
