September is here, fall is in the air, and Betty has just turned 1! This year flew past faster than it takes to wind a bobbin and I'm definitely feeling the sentiment - the days are long, but the years are short.

Let's start with the absolute basics of pantograph quilting and load our frame together. Learn how I load my rolling rail frame for this style of quilting:

Loading a Hoop Frame for Panto Quilting

This quilting tutorial is specific to loading a Rolling Rail style frame like the Continuum, Continuum II, or Q-Zone Queen. You'll know you have this style of frame if the metal rails can roll to take up your quilt.

If your rails are stationary, then you probably have a Hoop Frame. Follow the steps in the video below for loading your frame:

Free Motion Quilting Jagged Plain

For our old school, "blast from the past" free motion quilting design this week I decided on Jagged Plain. Originally published in September 2010, this foundational design is perfect for an all-over quilting design or it could work in sashing or borders.

I know some of these videos are not the best quality and may come out a bit fuzzy on the screen. It's crazy to think how much our screens, resolution, and wifi have changed since 2010.
