Where Should We Quilt Dandelion Puff?

I seem to have picked a lot of designs in this series that will work great for All-Over Quilting on a very large scale. Each Dandelion Puff shape can take up lots of space on your quilts, making it a fast quilting design that adds gorgeous texture to the quilt top.

This is also a design that works equally good on a home sewing machine and longarm machine. I do think it will be easier to quilt the large shapes and echoes on a moving machine (either home machine or longarm on a frame) with less strain on my back and shoulders.

Benefits of Rolling Rail Quilting

The main benefit of a rolling rail style frame is a speedy loading and advancing process. The quilt is layered / basted directly on the frame in this case, which means advancing to your next section is as easy as rolling the quilt up on the back rail.

• When you're quilting a big quilt, switch to hoop style.
• When you're quilting a baby quilt (42 inches wide or less), switch to rolling rail style.
• When you're quilting a Christmas tree skirt or circular quilt, switch to hoop style and easily load the odd shape however you like.
• When you're quilting a king sized quilt split into sections (42 inches wide or less), switch to rolling rail style, then connect the quilted pieces together when you're done.
