I’m in the mood to try out a new machine quilting design - let’s learn how to quilt Flame Fist on a home machine on a frame:

For this tutorial, I’m quilting on a home machine on the Evolution Hoop Frame loaded with the Daisy Loops Quilt Panel. I love this quilt panel because we can practice quilting on a marked line of the Daisy Loops Pantograph and have space to play with creative designs in the long open rectangles.

This is the perfect space to machine quilt Flame Fist. This design is a lot like Basic Spiral, but you continue to bounce around it over and over with more bouncy echoes to create a fist-like shape.

As you can probably tell in the video above, this design really wants to expand and fill up space quickly. This means Flame Fist will be a terrific All-Over Quilting design and a great choice for covering your quilt with a large-scale texture for a soft, bed quilt feel.
