Thanks to everyone who wrote in last week sharing their stories about ugly stitches! Here's a quick one from Diana R.:

Great tutorial on how to resolve Ugly Stitches you have really helped me troubleshoot my machines over the years until a wayward “out of round” bobbin began causing the same issue. I have sewn for years and never encountered this. It looks just like all the other bobbins and not obvious. After systematically checking everything multiple times, it turned out to be the bobbin. After replacing it, the problem was solved. When I put the wayward “out of round” bobbin back in the machine and it caused it again confirming my suspicion so it was discarded.

This is a great point! I will often set a bobbin aside if I've dropped it on the floor or banged it against a table. I know it probably won't work properly so it becomes a hand stitching bobbin instead.

Guild Quilt Show with Leah Day
