This is honestly the most frequent question I've received about the Little Rebel since the preorder began this past summer - is it really as good as it sounds?

The Little Rebel certainly sounds like an amazing home sewing machine:

• 13 inch throat space
• 1600 stitches per minute
• Super bright LED lights in the arm and around the needle
• Built-in optical stitch regulator
• Piecing and quilting feet included

I've taken time the last two months to get to know my Little Rebel sewing machine by making several quilts with it from start to finish. At first, I was skeptical. This is Grace Company's very first home sewing machine and with no previous versions to compare, I really didn't know what to expect.

What I've found is that this sewing machine is truly unique and truly designed for quilting first. 

This is an important distinction. I feel like most sewing machines are built for sewing garments first. There is a different mindset behind a machine built to work with 100 different fabrics versus a machine designed from the ground up to piece woven cotton fabric and to machine quilt.

Because it's designed for quilting specifically, there are a few things I miss having on this machine:

• The Little Rebel doesn't have a knee lifter
• Currently no presser foot pressure adjustment (fingers crossed this will be added in the future)

But here's what the Little Rebel has for quilting specifically:

• Two 1/4-inch patchwork feet
• Accurate needle plate with 1/4 inch marks clearly etched
• Free motion quilting foot
• Built-in optical stitch regulator
• Start / stop button on the machine and button for your quilting frame handlebars
• 14.74 x 23.5 inch extension bed
• Extension bed flips up so it's easy to change your bobbin
• M sized bobbins

I don't think a sewing machine has ever included these accessories specifically for making quilts. Out of the box, you have everything you need for piecing and free motion quilting. Here're a few other awesome details:

• The Little Rebel can use all Qnique Longarm feet. All of the foot sets we've already released are compatible with the Little Rebel.
• This machine is designed to work with any current Grace Quilting Frame. It may also work with older Grace Frames too. Reach out for help if you have an older frame and would like to see if the Little Rebel could work for you.
• Our new QCT 6 Computerized Quilting Automation is compatible with the Little Rebel. This allows you to quilt using a computer tablet to place and stitch your quilting design!

This sewing machine is so big, it only just fit in my Affordable Sewing Table. I gave it a try this week on top of my Dingo Cutting Table and liked that a lot, but I really need a new home for this giant machine.

Be looking forward to a new video this weekend as I share the new sewing table I've decided to use for my Little Rebel. It has some amazing features and a flatbed opening that fits the Little Rebel perfectly without an insert.

Ready for Some Valentine's Day Projects?

As you can see in the photo above, I've geared up for Valentine's Day with fun decorations in my sewing space. Red is my favorite color so I found it easy to find red decorations I'd been stashing around the house.

This beautiful flowing design will add gorgeous texture to your quilts with a little pop of love wherever you want it. I've used Heart Flow as a quilting design on a large scale to cover a baby quilt, and on a small scale for quilting a wall hanging.

Heart Paisley is one of my Oldie Goldies - the name I give designs I stitched in the first 100 days of the Free Motion Quilting Project. It's hard to believe that was 15 years ago and I still love this quilting design for adding beautiful texture and lots of love to my quilts.
