Paper stencils are a hit! Josh and I are so delighted by the response to this new free motion quilting style. But I didn't expect this #1 question from quilters:

• Can these paper stencils be used on a quilting frame / longarm machine?

I really didn't think of this when first designing the paper stencils... Mostly because the longarm quilting technique is pantograph quilting. I didn't think quilters would want to bother with ripping paper away if they had a quilting frame and the ability to use pantographs.

But I'm always game for a challenge and to think more creatively about our wonderful craft. Here's a video for you to check out how paper stencils works on a quilting frame:

I demonstrated this on my Qnique 21X Elite with Stitch Regulated Precise mode and 16 stitches per minute. Yes, this will also work nicely on any Hoop Frame with a home sewing machine too.

Your instructions for using freezer paper as a template to get the spiral started is genius! The pieced top is beautiful on its own, but the quilting really brings it to life!
