The picture above features a Qnique 16X Elite on the Q-Zone Queen Frame and I've gotta say - that is a really nice quilting system. You can load quilts up to 82 inches wide on the Q-Zone Queen Frame, and because it's a rolling rail frame, it's very fast and easy to load all three layers directly on the rails. No need to baste the quilt off the frame!

My Q-Zone Queen Frame measures 38-inches x 101-inches, and this brings up a very important point when quilting frame shopping: always measure your quilting room first! 

Make sure you have enough space to fit the frame, plus a few feet to the front and back so you can walk around both sides of the frame easily.

4 Ruler Quilting Tutorials for the 4th Month of the Year

Since this newsletter is all about ruler quilting, let's also review four of my best ruler quilting tutorials:

In this video I cover a lot of ruler quilting basics for quilting with rulers on a home sewing machine in a table. There are a few more steps to keep in mind when ruler quilting this way and this twenty-two minute long video goes into a LOT of detail. You'll also see how to quilt a really pretty wave pattern through a leaf quilt block.

This is a video from the Start Free Motion Quilting Series and shows many ways to use the Ditcher Ruler for stitching in the ditch and echo ditching. I also quilt on three different quilts within this video - both quilting on a home machine and quilting on a longarm on a frame.

This quilting tutorial features three creative designs you can quilt using one straight edge ruler - the Slice Ruler. I was just playing around as I filmed this video, trying to fill up the narrow spaces in the Double Stripe Diamond Quilt, and the textures this one ruler created were really cool! 

This last video is from the Dream Big Quilt Along and I quilted feathers using the 2-inch Feather Ruler into a flower petal. This video includes a lot of things from loading my Dream Big quilt at a 45 degree angle on a hoop frame, how to break thread with a thread cutter, and how to quilt with rulers on a home machine on a frame.
