Free Quilt Pattern and New Embroidery Designs

Published: Wed, 02/24/16

Hi ,

It's been a really busy February and last week we missed sending out the newsletter because we were off on a special trip for James's ninth birthday. I know - I can't believe he's already nine - these years are flying by way too fast!

So we have a lot to catch up on with this newsletter and up first is a beautiful new embroidery collection to help you celebrate the last weeks of winter.

Our Sensational Snowflakes embroidery collection features six intricate snowflake designs perfect for embellishing napkins or even enhancing the surface of a winter-themed quilt.
All of the designs in this set measure around 3.5 x 3.75 inches (83 x 95 mm) so they will definitely fit in 100 mm hoops for smaller machines.

You can purchase this collection in the following machine embroidery formats: ART, ART USB EXP, DST, EXP, HUS, JEF, PCS, PES, SEW, VIP, VP3, XXX.
ART Files are Here!
This fall we released our first embroidery collection, Reflections of Nature, and many quilters wrote in requesting ART files for their Bernina machines.

It took a bit of research and a lot of helping hands to add these new options, but from now on all of our embroidery designs will be released including ART and ART USB EXP.

Click Here to find these new formats in the Reflections of Nature Collection.
New Posts on the Project
I've been sharing many new posts to the Free Motion Quilting Project lately and having a blast with several new, creative projects. Click on the links below to check out what we've shared over the last two weeks:

Redesigning the Studio...Again Dad and I really needed an overhaul of the basement sewing room so we could move the embroidery machines out of Josh's office. Learn how we're rearranging again and finding new spaces to shift the machines.

Lessons from a Star - This week I needed a quick project to quilt so I pulled out a star block I'd pieced a few months ago. Unfortunately I made some bad design decisions and didn't like how the quilting was looking. Learn how I kept moving with this project and ended up loving the results.
Josh's Duck Jambalaya Recipe - Last week Josh shared one of our family's favorite recipes made with fresh vegetables and anduille sausage. We made this batch extra special by including roasted duck, fresh from our backyard flock of birds.

A Series of Experiments - I've been laughing maniacally a lot this week (Mwahahahaha!) as I play Mad Scientist with my yarn and stabilizer stash.

I'm trying to find the perfect recipe for Free Motion Weaving, a new technique using yarn and free motion quilting to simulate the look and feel of a woven / knitted garment, but in far less time.
Free Infinity Knot Quilt Pattern
Last week I received my Quilty Box for February and it really is like getting a surprise gift in the mail. I love opening up the box and checking out the fun materials and challenging myself to make something quickly and easily with the supplies.

This month I received a Kona Roll Up of white and black 2 1/2 inch strips so I decided to piece a funky white and black quilt...except I was all out of white background fabric!

I ended up using Island Batik Cherry and Snowcone and created this beautiful Infinity Knot Quilt using very simple pieced blocks. Click here to check out this free pattern.
Speaking of quilt patterns, remember the month is almost over and the next block for our Machine Quilting Block Party will be published on March 1st. Here's a little sneak peek of block #3:

It's never too late to join this fun quilting party! Just remember, all the block patterns go on sale for the first 5 days of the month so that's the best time to get the best deal on your patterns.

Be looking for another email from me on Tuesday as we kick off another month of learning and skill building together.

Until next week, let's go quilt!
