Stitch and Paint with Lots of Love

Published: Thu, 04/28/16

Hi ,

We're almost three months late for Valentine's Day, but I've come up with a new Stitch n Paint embroidery design I think everyone will love!

This new Stitch n' Paint Love design is a quick and easy project that combines machine embroidery and fabric painting. This new design was created specifically for you to stitch on your embroidery machine, then color in the spaces with fabric paints, markers, or colored pencils.

This design is conveniently sized at 5 x 7 inches so you can easily trim the edges and frame it in a standard picture frame. It's also available in all the major embroidery design file types: ART, ART USB EXP, DST, EXP, HUS, JEF, PCS, PES, SEW, VIP, VP3, XXX.

Of course you can get the best deal on this new Stitch n' Paint design this week only.

How to Quilt Family Tree
Sometimes the oddest ideas turn out to be the coolest designs! I was doodling simple stick figure people and began branching them out of one another and ended up with a fun new design called Family Tree.

The cool thing about this design is you could use it to quilt a real family tree! Make the circles much larger and the members of your family could sign their names within the spaces.

The nice thing about this design is it will really help you build skill for both quilting circles and travel stitching, two necessary skills to build for machine quilting.

I Am Enough Fabric Painting and Design
I've been really getting into fabric painting lately, and I admit it's my newest creative obsession. This past week I received some fun fabric I designed for Spoonflower and jumped right into my idea for quilting it with  one of my favorite affirmations: I Am Enough.

Click here to watch how I painted these powerful words. This was my first timelapse video created as I painted the fabric on the wall. It basically condensed 20 minutes of painting down to just 30 seconds of high speed video so it's very entertaining to watch!

If you'd like to make this too, you can find the background fabric right here.
Spring Fabric Designs
Speaking of Spoonflower fabric, I decided to participate in this month's Spoonflower challenge and designed this pretty Japanese garden themed design called Pink Flowers over Gray Echoes.

I think this fabric would make a beautiful skirt or flowy tunic to enjoy this spring and summer.

I've had such a good time learning how to design better repeats much faster and I can see this definitely being something I design more regularly.

That's it for this week. Our new Stitch n' Paint Love design will be on sale until next Wednesday, May 4th so make sure to pick it up now so you can get the best deal!

Let's go quilt,

Leah Day
