Hi ,

This past Sunday was the 7th anniversary of the Free Motion Quilting Project and we're celebrating all this week with a store-wide anniversary sale where you can save up to 40% off books, workshops, patterns, and quilting tools. Click Here to check out the sale!
This is the perfect time to pick up our new Waterfall Bargello Workshop, which is currently only $14.99 during the Anniversary Sale!

This new workshop includes 15 detailed videos that will walk you through every step to piecing AND quilting the beautiful Waterfall Bargello Quilt. You'll learn how to prepare and cut fabric accurately, how to audition your quilting designs, and two methods of machine quilting.

The Waterfall Bargello quilt pattern is also included which creates a 24 x 64 inch wall hanging sized quilt. Click Here to learn more about this new workshop.
Anniversary Mini Quilt Along
Back in 2009 when I began the Free Motion Quilting Project, I posted new machine quilting design videos every single day. To celebrate our 7th anniversary, I'm sharing new machine quilting videos every day this week!

I'm quilting each design in the Twin Rainbow Stars quilt so you'll learn how to use designs in a real quilt. Click Here to find the free quilt pattern so you can follow along too.

Our first machine quilting design in this special daily series is Ocean Currents, a super easy design that will fill the red spaces of your star quilt with beautiful lava-like texture.

The second machine quilting design is Snake Paisley, which I quilted into the bright orange diamonds of the Rainbow Quilt.

The most recent design video to be shared is Lemonade, the perfect design for the yellow spaces of our quilt.

Are you noticing a pattern? Each quilting design I'm selecting will coordinate with the particular color it's quilted into - swirling lava like texture for the red spaces, flames for orange, and lemons for yellow.
Each day this week you'll learn a new quilting design and how to machine quilt it on a bed-quilt scale so your finished Rainbow Star quilt will be soft and cozy.

We'd love for you to join in the fun and make this quilt too! Please share the videos with your friends and post your photos to the Leah Day Quilting Facebook group so we can see your progress.

Posting new videos daily like this reminds me of the first days of the Free Motion Quilting Project. I began the blog because I just couldn't shake the question - What will happen if I do this? What will happen if I commit to quilting every day? What will happen if I share videos of these designs?

I honestly had no idea what would happen and taking that first step was both challenging and exhilarating, but I've never, ever regretted it.

Thank you for taking part in this project, supporting me with your kind comments, and inspiring me with your questions. I'm so happy to still be sharing my love of machine quilting and I honestly wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you. Thank you and here's to another year of beautiful quilting!

Let's go quilt,

Leah Day
