Take a Workshop with Leah Day

Published: Wed, 10/12/16

Hi ,

This past Saturday I turned 33 years old and had a wonderful day to celebrate with my family in Asheville. I also like to celebrate with you too, so this week we've put all of our Video Workshops on sale for 50% off their usual price.
Our video workshops are just like real quilting class at a guild or local quilt store. I demonstrate each technique step by step for you to watch and follow along.

In fact, these video workshops are actually better than a real class because you can watch the videos over and over, pause, and rewind as many times as you need to! There's no limit to the number of times you can watch the videos and the workshop will never expire.

So if you've always wanted to take a quilting class with me, this is your best bet!
We have five video workshops for you to choose from and for this week only, they are on sale for just $12.49 each!

A beautiful king sized quilt pattern is included for you to quilt along with me step by step. Click Here to learn more.

Waterfall Bargello Workshop - Bargello quilts are very distinctive in their intense piecing design, but they're notoriously difficult to quilt. How do you pick a design to quilt over all those tiny pieces? In this workshop I break down all the steps to piecing the Waterfall Bargello Quilt, then two methods for auditioning your quilting designs, and finally how to quilt it with a combination of walking foot quilting and free motion quilting. You'll also learn how to add some bling to the surface with decorative bobbin threads! Click Here to learn more.

Heart and Feather Wholecloth Quilt - If you've ever wanted to stitch your quilting skills up a notch and learn about wholecloth quilting, this is the class for you. Quilting the Diamond in the Sky Block
Last week we learned how to piece this beautiful Diamond in the Sky Block and this week it's time to machine quilt it together.

I decided to fill this block with an easy combination of designs: Sharp Stippling, Pebbling, and Matrix with a pretty marked sun motif in the center.

Do you have any questions about how to machine quilt this block?

Crazy as it sounds, I do respond to every question posted on the blog and on my YouTube channel. Sometimes I'll even create a brand new video to just to answer your question in detail.
New Design - Brick Stitch #465
I've been on a roll creating new free motion quilting designs this week and last Wednesday I shared this cool stacking design called Brick Stitch.

Now where will Brick Stitch work best in your quilts? Because the bricks stack together so evenly, I think this is a great design for the background of a quilt.

If there's a lot of complicated shapes to hop over (like applique vines or pieced star points) then I would mark lines to help you keep the bricks even across the space.

I'd love to see how you machine quilt this design! Make sure to tag LeahDayQuilting if you share a photo on Instagram or Facebook so I can see what you've quilted with Brick Stitch!

By the way, would  you like to get an email notification every time a new quilting tutorial goes live? Click Here to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you're the first to know when new quilting videos are available.

That's it for this week. Make sure to check out the sale on quilting workshops. I can wait to teach you more about quilting real quilts on your home machine!

Let's go quilt,

Leah Day
