Published: Wed, 05/10/17

Hi ,

Happy Mother's Day! We're celebrating all this week with a big sale in the quilt shop. You can save 50% on all quilting workshops starting today!
Learn how to build new skills for machine quilting, learn how to quilt many fun designs, and quilt real quilts on your home machine. All quilting workshops are just $12.49 each and come packed with information to help you start quilting on the right foot.

Also on sale is our Affordable Sewing Table! This table will make quilting so much easier because you will no longer have to push and pull your quilt over the arm of the machine. You'll be able to move the quilt easier and faster when your machine is on a flush surface with your table top.

The price of the table will unfortunately increase on May 17th so now is the time to get the best price on your table and make quilting much easier. You can pick up a table, plus custom cut insert that will fit around your machine for $274.99, starting today.

Click Here to learn more about the Affordable Sewing Table.

Note: Sewing Tables only ship to the lower 48 states in the US. The table and custom cut insert ship separately. Please read this page carefully before placing your order.
How to Quilt This Month's Pansy Patch Block
This month we don't just have one flower to quilt, but three! This Pansy Patch quilt block has lots of little pieces to put together, and a lot of small spaces to machine quilt as well.

I began the video by showing you how to stitch in the ditch around the flower shapes to secure the block. This gets the layers of the quilt block secure so you can take the pins out so they're not in your way.

Make sure to watch the video to see how I quilt through the complex areas around the stems. Small spaces like this can be tricky to quilt because you don't have space to escape. I managed to sneak out using the ditches so be sure to watch the video to see how that works.

Quilting Fun on the Free Motion Quilting Project
We have a lot more videos and posts going up every week on the Free Motion Quilting Project! Here're a few more videos you don't want to miss:

Stitch in the Ditch on Applique - This Sunday I shared a video on how to stitch in the ditch around applique shapes using the Grace Qnique 14+ longarm. Control is the key with this type of careful quilting so you'll find lots of tips on controlling your hands and your speed on any machine.

Would you like to see more videos on quilting on a sit down longarm? Find the entire collection of videos on the Grace Qnique right here.

Monochromatic Quilts with Andi Stanfield - Have you ever made a monochromatic quilt? Come learn why you should make a quilt using only a single color family in this Hello My Quilting Friends podcast. Andi shares her experience creating monochromatic quilts, writing a book with her mom, and allowing herself to dig deep into a type of quilt that inspired her.

Don't forget you can find all the episodes to the Hello My Quilting Friends podcast at LeahDay.com/Podcast.
Return to FMQ Designs: Cyclops #472
Time for a new quilting design! I love creating new designs and I've missed sharing these new videos each week. I'm getting back on track with new design videos every Friday.

For this new design, my inspiration is eyeballs yet again, but this time I'm mixing it up by quilting a football / eye shape within a circle.

This design can be a bit tricky to form because you're stacking circular shapes together, but ultimately the shapes are easy to quilt with a little practice. You do want to form nice round circles in order to make the football / eye shape fit nicely inside.

Watch the quilting tutorial above carefully to find tips on quilting the circles and how I visualize the shapes without having to mark them on the quilt top.

That's it for this week! I hope you enjoy the new quilting videos we share each week. If you have suggestions for a new video or tutorial, please reply to this email and let us know.

Please take advantage of our Mother's Day sale and save on quilting workshops and affordable sewing tables during this holiday weekend. We really appreciate your support!

Let's go quilt,

Leah Day
