So what do you quilt in those troublesome sashing spaces, ?
This is a tricky narrow space between quilt blocks that many quilters leave empty. That's a shame because this is a great space to add extra texture
and designs to your quilts.
I love quilting lots of different designs in sashing so much I've created a quilting workshop on it!
The Super Squares and Sashing workshop will teach you how to quilt 16 designs in small squares and another 17 designs in narrow sashing.
I'm constantly hearing from quilters who
want to build skill fast, but don't want to waste a lot of fabric. Quilting on a small scale as taught in this workshop will accomplish both of these goals - you'll be able to build skill quickly because you get so many more repetitions of each design.
You'll also get all that practice and skill-building in a smaller space and it will feel easier to quilt on your home machine. The smaller the movement with your hands, the less quilt you're having to shift, and the
easier it feels on a small machine.
I absolutely love hanging quilts like this in my sewing room because it acts like a sampler of quilting designs. If I'm ever stuck and don't know which design to quilt next, a quick glance at a sampler like Squares and Sashing and I'll have the inspiration I need to finish my quilt.
So I hope you'll join me for this quilting class and learn how to fill the sashing (and squares) of your quilts with over
a dozen designs!
