Hello my quilting friend! I have to say, , I really appreciate you opening this message from me today.

Josh and I work hard each week to send you lots of information and inspiration to help you on your quilting journey.

But this week I'd love to hear from you. Is there a quilting tutorial or technique you've been wanting to learn? Have you been struggling with a particular part of the quilt-making process? Or are you wanting to learn something new?

Is there something I used to post and share a lot that you miss? Things have changed a lot since I started this newsletter way back in 2009.

Please reply to this email and let me know what you would like to see. No matter how simple or how silly or how complex, I'd love to hear from you!

Prism Path Baby Quilt Along Post #2

We're in the second week of the Prism Path baby quilt and this week we're piecing the rainbow strip sets. You don't want to miss this quilting tutorial and the tips I've included on piecing the strips accurately and how to match thread color with the least number of bobbin changes.

Yeah, I'm pretty lazy. I like to change my bobbin the absolute minimum amount during a project and sometimes this takes a little planning in advance.

Which Color Would You Use?

I'm working on a new sewing project that I'm really excited about using the decorative stitches on my sewing machine. How many decorative stitches do you have on your machine? How often do you use them?

If you're anything like me, you have dozens of decorative stitches, but never use them. I'm planning a few fun projects to begin using these special stitches, but I'm feeling a bit stuck on my thread color.

Which out of these thread colors do you like best? I'm wanting the stitches to stand out nicely against the white fabric so you can see them clearly, but not so dark the stitches blend together and look black.

New Designs Every Friday

Would you like a fun weekend quilting challenge? Consider quilting the design I share on Friday sometime during the weekend. Each design is quilted with walking foot style quilting, but many times I've also shared an extra video with the free motion quilting tutorial too.

Yes, you can use different types of quilting for the same design. It's up to you to decide which quilting style feels easier and more fun to you.

We're currently quilting all the designs from the book Explore Walking Foot Quilting into large squares. After we quilt all the designs in the book, you can select your favorite 20 squares, trim the edges and stitch them together to create the Marvelous Mosaic Quilt.
