Speaking of rulers, it's time for our second quilting adventure on the Patchwork Mosaic block and this time I’m playing with ruler quilting!

 

I had a fun idea for quilting this block, but had to figure out how to make it work within the size of my quilt frame. I'm really enjoying the process of learning more about longarm quilting and how it's different from home machine quilting each month.

It's been an incredible first week in the Quilting Friends Club! Josh and I are so delighted with the response to our new membership club and we're really enjoying seeing all your beautiful quilts and blocks.

 

Over 175 quilters have joined in the fun and are sharing pictures, swapping stories, asking questions, and sharing experiences.

 

Seeing so many familiar faces popping up in the club all week has been like having a big quilting reunion party. I truly appreciate your support and kindness and I'm so happy we created this new space for us to hang out together!

I was quilting on vinyl fabric Friday and had such an awesome time. This adventure started with a podcast with Katie Baker where we chatted about quilting on weird fabrics like vinyl and leather. Then we decided to do a collaboration and Katie sent me some pieces of black vinyl to play with.

 

I didn’t realize it, but I actually had some vinyl fabric on hand for a costume I made for Josh. I always called it pleather so I didn’t realize it was the same stuff.

 

When I received Katie’s package, I instantly recognized the similar material and decided to get some practice in on my scraps first before quilting on Katie's pieces. I didn’t want to mess up her pretty black fabric!
