It's finally February and time for my favorite block in the Friendship Quilt Along: the Tree of Life!

 

I love how this block looks with the scrappy happy half square triangles.

 

 

This pattern will use up 32 scrappy 5-inch squares (or more than half of a precut charm pack). It's a great way to knock out a big chunk of your fabric stash in one go.

 

I hope you love piecing this block as much as I did! Find lots of tips on piecing the block in the video tutorial shared today.

 

 

As I was writing this pattern, I realized the Tree of Life block could make a beautiful quilt all by itself. I ran with the idea and went a little overboard...

 

So a super special bonus this month is the additional 78-inch Tree of Life quilt pattern:

This bonus quilt pattern is included in the Tree of Life block pattern. Of course, you don't have to make it quite as big as I did. Skip the borders and you'll have a nice 54-inch quilt instead.

 

Come piece a block and a new quilt top with me this month. I plan to quilt my Tree of Life quilt on my longarm with a new pantograph design.
