Hi ,

As of this writing we still have a few openings for both classes, the longarm morning seminar and the afternoon session showcasing frame quilting with a home sewing machine.
Quilt Fantastic with Leah Day - June 22nd at the Meadowview Resort and Convention Center in Kingsport, TN. You'll learn more about ruler foot quilting, free motion quilting, and lots of ideas for quilting bed quilts,

Enjoy a Quilting Short Story
|
Last week I shared one of my favorite podcast episodes yet. I’m reading a short story by my husband Josh Day written in my Mally the Maker universe! The story is called Scant and the Quarter Scamming Baby Chicks. As a quilter, I hope you understand the reference!
( Scant and quarter-inch seams.)
Spoiler Alert! You really should read Mally the Maker and the Queen in the Quilt BEFORE listening to this story. There are a few spoilers about what happens at the end of the book and who is left in charge of the magical world of Quilst.
More about Mally the Maker: Mally Spencer is a ten-year old girl who's been quite upset since her grandmother went missing six months ago. She finds herself alone in Grandma’s house one day and begins exploring an unfinished quilt in her grandma’s sewing room. Suddenly, she finds herself in a world inside the quilt. Could this be where Grandma has been?
The short story starts at 29:35 in case you want to jump right into the main feature.
Longarm Quilting the Bears Claw Block
|
It’s time for our last quilting video for the Bears Claw quilt block, and we're jumping on the Grace Qnique 21 longarm to quilt with the zig zag design zippling!
I chose Zippling as the design for the border of the Bears Claw block.
Zippling is an all-over quilting design so the Cruise setting for the Grace Qnique 21 was perfect. This is a stitch regulated setting that keeps the needle bouncing up and down, even if you aren’t moving the machine.
Pantograph Quilting on Qzone Frame
|
This past Friday I dove into pantograph quilting once again and tried this unique style of quilting on the Q-Zone Hoop Frame.
This is very different from pantograph quilting on a large 3 rail frame like the Continuum because you have shift the quilt from side to side as you advance the quilt through the frame.
If you did like the story, please comment on youtube and let us know. We'd love to hear from you on youtube!
Until next week... let's go quilt,
Leah Day
