As always with Mini Block Mondays, here’s a snapshot of the patchwork pieces to get you started:

This block is pieced with 32 Half Square Triangles. I could have continued to make these with the normal two-at-a-time method I’ve used for years, but I decided to shake things up and try a new method to make 8 at a time from a larger square. Watch the video above to see how this method works, and how to trim your HSTs to measure 1 inch square.

 

After piecing and trimming 32 Half Square Triangles, you may not be very happy with me, but I promise the hard part is over! Piece the units together with the small squares to create four miniature Friendship Star blocks with white triangle corners. Then you will have only four units to piece together.
