, this week's Sugar Bowl Quilt Block is really fun!

 

It’s a new riff on a Square-in-a-Square block, but with sliced Half Square Triangles to make the triangle corners. The best part is you will get 2 Sugar Bowl quilt blocks for every set of fabrics you piece.

This Sugar Bowl Quilt Block is a bit tricky because it’s a combination of Half Square Triangles and a Square in a Square. First make a batch of 4 Half Square Triangles from the 3-inch squares. Then cut them in half diagonally to create 8 triangles. Make sure to keep these organized as you piece a matching set of 4 triangles around the center smaller square to create the Sugar Bowl Blocks.
