Today we're free motion quilting an intermediate design called Heart Lines. And speaking of hearts, since the birth of our daughter Betty, I feel like my heart has tripled in size. Here’s my favorite picture so far of Betty’s beautiful smile:

I absolutely love my Qnique 21. The handlebar controls are simple to memorize and the 21 inch harp space gives me a huge amount of quilting space. Another advantage is some accessories like the rear handlebars are cheaper on this machine than the Qnique 21 Pro.

Deluxe Foot Set – This set includes two styles of walking feet, a darning foot, and a ruler foot! These are the feet I use for machine quilting on my Eversewn machine.

I’m also quilting on a Janome 1600 set up on a Grace Hoop Frame, which is currently on discount! This makes quilting feel so much easier because the machine is moving on wheels instead of the quilt being pushed over a table.

Difficulty Level – Intermediate. Quilting Heart Lines is pretty simple, but it does involve a bit of travel stitching and being able to fit the hearts into the gap spaces. Take your time with each heart and feel free to mark the shapes if you need to.

Design Family – Edge to Edge. Heart Lines is quilted from one edge of your quilting space to the other. This will look great quilted across narrow spaces like borders and dashing.

Where Do I Quilt it? – I think Heart Lines is a perfect border quilting design. You can Stitch the gap spaces parallel with the edges of the quilt to create a lovely frame for the center of the quilt. You can also stitch Heart Lines perpendicular to the edges to add even more funky texture and heart shapes to your quilt.
