I have a new quilting video for you this week with a quicker way to get your quilts loaded on the Q-Zone Queen Frame. See how fast this process can be in this video:

An extra bonus within this video is how to load a quilt with curved edges - a Double Wedding Ring! No, I didn't piece this quilt. I found this quilt top on Ebay and thought it was perfect for filming new quilting videos.

Unfortunately someone washed this quilt top and the edges are very frayed and damaged in places. I had to intentionally stitch pleats into the curved edge to force the fabric to lay flat.

Is this a mistake? I don't think so. This is the best possible solution for a tricky quilt. No, it won't be perfect and these pleats will show in the finished quilt. I also plan to cover a few rips and tears in the quilt with appliques.

The point here is not to have a perfect Double Wedding Ring, but to finish this quilt, get it bound, and be able to use it daily. I'm excited to try new quilting designs and possibly make a set of stencils specifically for Double Wedding Rings to finish this quilt!
