Hi ,
Â
Last year I launched Printable Quilting Stencils as a new way to learn quilting and stitch edge-to-edge easily on any machine. Thing is - I developed the original stencils on the Little Rebel sewing machine, which has a 13-inch harp... so these stencils ended up BIG!
I've received a lot of feedback from quilters and the #1 request was - can you make smaller stencils for smaller machines?
Â
Challenge accepted! This summer I became a Singer Dealer and began quilting with an entry-level Singer Heavy Duty 4411. Using this small home sewing machine, I've taken my time testing and quilting, and drawing and erasing until I've finally come up with a size that works and still gives us:
Easy edge-to-edge quilting
Continuous line designs on a soft, cuddly quilt scale
New patterns that can be
flipped, mirrored, and staggered to create fantastic quilting effects!
Mini Paper Stencils are just $3.99 each through October, but this price will rise come November 1st.Â
Â
I am so proud of these patterns and enjoyed the process of creating them almost
as much as I love using them on my quilts. Mini Stencils may be small in size, but they don't look "beginner" or "basic" in any way. I've also included seasonal designs so you can find the perfect oak leaf, snowflake, and heart quilting pattern right now.
I can't wait to see what you make with these Mini Quilting Stencils. Make sure to get in touch with a picture if you give
them a try this weekend.

Is Making a Quilted Jacket
on Your Wishlist?
I recently learned about QuiltFolk magazine, a beautiful ad-free quilting magazine with gorgeous photos and inspiring stories. They are hosting an online four-day event filled with quilting and fashion fun:
Â
With the Quiltfolk Quilt Coat as the headline project, taught by Jenni Smith and Kay Walsh, you’ll gain the skills and confidence to create this beautiful patchwork jacket.
Â
Click Here to learn more about
QuiltFolkand this event, starting October 22nd. I'll be attending too and looking forward to learning from quilters who also love making quilted jackets.Â
Â
My previous quilted jackets got stuck in production for years due to indecision and fear. It can be intimidating so if this is something that's been on your list, consider this event as a way to get focused and intentional on making a quilt coat.

Â
That's it for this week my quilting friend. I know this may be silly, but after being in business since 2009, I've finally crafted a mission statement:
Â
LeahDay.com - Making machine quilting accessible to passionate quilters of all skill levels through affordable equipment and expert teaching, so everyone can create beautiful quilts.
Â
I'm excited to see where this
mission statement will take me in the coming months. As always, I love hearing from you, and yes, I am listening and always working and learning and tinkering with new ideas to make machine quilting easier and more accessible to all quilters.
