Here's my assembly video way back when we had QCT 4. The process of adding this system to your frame has changed very little since I made this video in 2019:

You'll use the hardware - motor plate, drive belts, and brackets - to upgrade your quilting frame to a computerized quilting system. Then install the software on a Windows based tablet to begin quilting.

Note - a Windows Tablet is not included with QCT, but you can now add one with your order for $999.95 that's guaranteed by The Grace Company to be compatible with this software.

Which level of QCT is Right for Me?

There are four levels of QCT 6 now and each level unlocks more designs, features, and creative options for your quilts. The first video in this newsletter showed several designs you can quilt with the most basic level of QCT 6.

QCT 6 Plus - With this software level you'll be able to design and quilt more complex pantographs. 

You'll also have the Select & Sew tool which allows you to select a single design, like a quilt block or triangle design, and place it precisely on your quilt. This is what I used to place and quilt these feather wreath designs in this snowball quilt:

Many quilters love to purchase quilting designs, and with QCT 6 Plus, you'll have the ability to import designs. You'll also have access to hundreds of block, triangle, and continuous line designs within the software. I used only built-in designs to quilt this Basket Weave quilt. QCT 6 PRO - This level of the software unlocks three powerful pantograph options and the ability to record and quilt designs automatically. You'll also be able to design your own patterns and quilt layouts using Quilt CAD and Pattern CAD.

QCT 6 PRO + Gold Card Access - Adding a Gold Card to QCT 6 PRO unlocks the highest level of the software and in my opinion, the very most powerful and useful quilting features like multi-pattern placement and Quilting eClipse. Will I Be Happy With QCT 6?

If you begin with the most basic level of QCT 6, yes, I do think this level of the software will keep you quilting happily for many months or years, especially if your goal is simple, edge-to-edge quilting

What Do I Love Best About Computerized Quilting?

I love the creativity and control I have over my quilting stitches. I love being able to quilt precise designs without death-gripping a quilting ruler. I love finishing my quilts faster.

When I began quilting, my only option was to quilt using my home sewing machine on a table. I did this for years and definitely mastered the art of maneuvering quilts of all sizes through home machines.

When I switched to longarm quilting on a frame, the machine quilting process felt so much easier, but my quilting precision went out the window. 

I still don't have the same level of control over my quilting stitches. I know from experience that it takes dozens of quilts to master travel stitching, dozens of quilts to master echoing, and I just haven't had time.

This is what I love about computerized quilting the most - I don't have to wait.

I don't have to practice for hours and hours, quilt after quilt. I can pick a design, place it properly, and let my machine stitch perfectly. I love digitizing designs and the new creative freedom I've gained from computerized quilting.

We are so lucky to be able to use technology so affordably and be able to machine quilt our quilts so easily. If you want to finish your quilts yourself and right now, computerized quilting is the way to go!
