Click Here to find Magnum Magnets. You might be wondering how many you'll need for loading your frame. Here's the list of the frames and the number of magnets needed:
- Cutie or Cutie Breeze Frame - 8 magnets for the back rail
- Q-Zone
Hoop Frame - 9 magnets for the back rail
- Evolution Hoop Frame - 10 magnets for the back rail (20 magnets total for using this hybrid frame in rolling rail style)
You may want to begin with just a 5-pack to see if you like using them and if they improve your frame loading ability. Click Here to find the 5-pack of Magnum
Magnets.
As I mention in this video, Magnum Magnets are most useful for the first load of the quilt on the frame. After you've quilted across that first row, you'll have to switch to the coil clamps on the Cutie Breeze to contain the quilted section of the quilt.
I continue to use them after the first load to help keep the quilt on the frame as I'm placing the clamps. It's like having an extra helping hand to keep the quilt in
place and not slipping off onto the floor.
Quick Side to Side Advance On Hoop Frames
Magnum Magnets definitely help speed up the first load on hoop frames, but once the first or second rows across the quilt are finished, you will need to switch to your frame's back clamps.
Watch this video to see how I quickly advance the quilt side-to-side using the back clamps for assistance:
