Hi ,
Thanks a bunch for all the birthday wishes this week. Yep, I started the
last year of my 20s with a bang and decided decided to celebrate by
launching our holiday sale a few weeks early!
Right now you can pick up a physical, spiral bound copy of From Daisy to Paisley for just $12.95. This mini book features 50 awesome designs and is the perfect stocking stuffer for any quilter on your list!
You can also find this book together with the Beginner Free Motion Fillers DVD for just $30.00! This Beginner Combo Kit is the perfect collection of easy designs for any quilter wishing to get serious about free motion quilting this year.Find both From Daisy to Paisley and the Beginner Combo Kit on sale right here in the Day Style Designs Quilt Shop.
Now let's catch up on news from the Free Motion Quilting Project!
This week we're learning Goldilocks. This beautiful design is a mixture of Stippling and Flowing Lines which produces an amazing effect on your quilts:
As for UFO Sundays, we've received a lot of emails from quilters needing permission to throw away UFOs that are just being impossible.
For the record, the Quilting Police can't arrest you for UFO destruction. It's not illegal to decide a project is just unfinishable and to dispose of it accordingly. However, you might want to check with your local fire laws before using the method I've used to get rid of a troublesome UFO!Find this latest UFO Sunday post right here!
However, many quilters responded critically of the idea of throwing away UFOs. All that wasted time and effort! Why not send them to charity?!
So I've also started a link up to all charities that will take fabric, batting, and UFO quilting projects in ALL states of construction. You can find this list of links, and link up your own charity if it meets the criteria right here.
So far three charities have linked up willing to take anything you'll throw at them, so if you've got a monster project that's just driving you crazy, throw it in an envelope and send it to someone who will finish it up and put it to a good cause.
After all, life is too short to spend it quilting something you hate. Pass on the projects you can't stand and make a stab at the UFOs you still feel passionate about.
Let's go quilt!
