Free Motion Quilting a Sampler
Hi ,

Have you ever wished you could take a workshop with me in person? I rarely travel these days because I want to be home with my family, but every week we receive loads of emails from quilters wishing to take classes.

While in-person workshops might not be possible right now, ONLINE class definitely are! Craftsy.com has just released my first class titled Free Motion Quilting a Sampler.

This class is all about learning filler designs and applying them to the blocks of a real sampler quilt. Over 7 hours of video footage allow you to see every step of the process, and is FAR more in depth and detailed than we could ever get in a normal workshop setting.

Now if you've never taken a Craftsy course, make sure to check out this article to learn more about the platform, how it works, and what you can expect from an online class.

So if you've been wishing you could someday spend the day (or several days) with me in class, consider signing up for this new class Free Motion Quilting a Sampler.

Free Motion Quilting Design Matrix
Now let's catch up on the Quilt Along! It's now November and I took a look at the Batik Beauty Quilt and decided it was time to bust through this quilt in a big way.

So this month we're going to focus on Quilt Busting Designs. This isn't a particular family, but designs that can be expanded to knock out huge chunks of the quilt at a time so you can finish your project in time to get it bound and under the Christmas tree.

This week we're focusing on Matrix and how to fill this design over a quilt so it creates a large wiggly grid over the surface.

UFO Sunday
Ever wonder why you never have time to quilt? This Sunday I took a look at the things I manage to get done every week and the things that always end up left behind.

What I ultimately found was that quilting has to come first. If I really want to work on a quilt, I have to start the day with it!

So this week I'm starting every morning with a bit of time on my sewing machine. Sometimes it's an hour, sometimes it's 15 minutes. The length of time isn't nearly as important as building the habit of quilting every single day.

Make sure to check by the Free Motion Quilting Project on Saturday for the full video and lots of tips for organizing your sewing space so it's super function and you can find what you're looking for.

That's it for this week! Time to hop off the computer and go quilt!
