Whew! Despite the cold, nasty weather this month, January has certainly stacked up to be one busy time for stitching through many projects.
This month we've made great progress on Express Your Love, learning how to quilt words and many filler designs. Since I missed sending last week's newsletter, let's catch up on all the posts for the last 2 weeks:
McTavishing - This beautiful flowing design was actually the 2nd design I ever learned how to quilt. The amazing texture is the perfect addition to any space within our project quilt.
Working through Small Spaces - While quilting McTavishing, I turned the camera back on and shot a second video showing how I quilted through many small spaces all at once without breaking thread.
This week we're playing with color and design intensity and seeing just how dynamic a design can be on the surface of your quilt.
Micro-Zippling - Zippling is what happens when Stippling goes zigzaggy! This angular design was quilted in the background with a new color of thread so you can see that this particular design has a low intensity - it's not going to stand up and shout at you from the surface of the quilt.
Boomerangs - This design is definitely high-intensity! Lots of travel stitching and thread play make this design stand out boldly. Even though both designs were quilted with the same color of Isacord Brick Thread, they have a totally different effect on the surface of the quilt:
