Creativity Is Blooming

News from Leah Day
Hi ,

Can you believe we're already in the middle of May? This spring will soon be summer, but anytime is a great time to try something new and be creative in a fun way.

One way Josh and I are being creative together is by cooking new recipes and trying new foods. Our friend Ben Kim created an excellent tutorial on making Korean Kim Chi and Josh made a big jar we've been enjoying all month.

This gingery, spicy pickled cabbage is turning out to taste excellent with almost any meal, and I decided to get creative with it on a grilled hot dog! Yum!
Speaking of hot dogs, here's a great alternative to the typical bun -  Use a pancake instead!

I make pancakes every Sunday for breakfast, but we always have 2 or 3 left over so this is a great way to use up the extras and make lunch a sweet / savory treat.

Creativity is something you can incorporate in all aspects of your life. All it starts with is a single question - What if?

Creativity is fueled by curiosity so never be afraid to try something new, even if it looks a little weird at first!

Now let's move out of the kitchen and into the sewing room as we catch up on all the articles and videos published this week on the Free Motion Quilting Project:

FMQ Friday: Quilting, Sewing, New Audiobooks, Oh My! - This Friday I'm pursing many passions as I dig into some new audio books, quilt further into Duchess Reigns, and even tackle fitting a shirt properly so the buttons no longer gape open at the front.
30. Learn how to Quilt Jagged Scribble - This design looks exactly like it's name - jagged, zigzaggy scribbling! It's fast, easy, and fun to stitch around the motifs we learned last week.

Focus, Motivation, and Honoring Feelings - I've stumbled across another terrific audiobook all about motivation that's really changing the way I think about finishing certain projects. Rather than plow right through Duchess Reigns, I've made a different choice to hang her up for awhile so I can feel less stressed and more motivated to finish her later this spring.
50% off Craftsy Classes Anytime
With the recent launch of my third Craftsy class Free Motion Fillers Volume 2, I've had a lot of requests for links to the other classes, Free Motion Fillers Volume 1, and Free Motion Quilting a Sampler.

So I've created a brand new page right here where you can always find 50% off links to my classes.

This means you can sign up anytime and pay just $19.99 per class. That's a pretty great deal considering that each class contains several hours of video instruction and you'll always have the ability to post a question and get the help you need directly from me.

On this page I've also included some discount links to my favorite Craftsy classes taught by wonderful instructors on a variety of subjects. If you're looking to expand your knowledge about any particular craft, Craftsy is definitely the place to learn at your own pace and for a fraction of the cost of taking a class in person.

Now that's it for this week! What are you doing that's particularly creative today? Just remember the key to feeling creative is to keep your curiosity alive!

Let's go quilt,
