Hi ,
It's hard to believe it's already the middle of April! This year is really flying by fast as we're having so much fun quilting together through the Building Blocks Quilt Along.

Before we catch up on this week's block and design, I wanted to share a special weekly deal we're running on Beginner Free Motion Quilting Fillers DVD.

This DVD features 30 beginner level designs stitched out clearly into squares. At the end of the DVD, you'll learn how to put all the squares together to make this beautiful free motion sampler quilt:
The DVD regularly costs $29.95, but this week you can pick it up for just $19.95! Click here to check out this DVD.

We also have a digital, download version, which is a collection of all the videos in one, computer and tablet friendly PDF. This download version is on sale now for only $14.95!

Of course this is just one of the many products we carry at LeahDay.com. Make sure to check our our Quilt Shop for any tools and supplies you're needing for free motion quilting and help support the free videos we post each week online. We appreciate your support!
Now it's time to catch up on this week's quilting design for the Building Blocks Quilt Along! This week we quilted our modern Building Block with 4 different sizes of Stippling:

This super popular free motion quilting design is a great choice for beginning quilters to tackle because there's no travel stitching involved. The rule behind this design is simple - Just wiggle! and try not to cross your lines of quilting.

Be sure to also check out my other videos and tutorials on stippling which are linked up in this post. I know you'll find this super helpful if this is your first time quilting this filler design.

If you haven't joined us yet on this Building Block Quilt Along, you have not missed your chance. You can sign up at any time as you'll get every month at once when you pick up the pattern. You can quilt along as fast or as leisurely as you'd like as all of the accompanying videos will remain online forever.

Josh has applied his own spin to stippling. He struggled pretty severely with the 1/8" scale, but he came up with a fun idea on how to make it easier. You can check out his video and read about his experience with stippling by clicking here.

Below is the backside of Josh's block so you can better see his first try at 1/8" scale. I think he did a great job! Always remember to not be hard on yourself and be happy and accepting with your progress as you learn how to free motion quilt with skill and confidence.
So what else have we been up to this week?

This week I've been putting the finishing touches on my first fabric line. I'm calling it Quilt ME! and it's fabric designed to be cut and pieced like normal fabric, but the quilting design is printed too, so to quilt, all you have to do is follow the lines.

So far I've created fabric with Stippling, Pebbling, Paisley and Gridlines designed on a 1/2 inch scale so if you quilt on the printed lines, your quilt will still finish soft and cuddly.

I swear, I never understood the appeal of designing fabrics until I got a few pieces to play with and began cutting and making blocks. It's just so much fun!
We also have a new Colorful! version of the Building Blocks Cheater Cloth Fabric!

This new cheater cloth fabric features all 42 blocks from the Building Blocks Quilt Along, but in a much more cheerful colorway.

These blocks have been designed with the same colors in the Quilt Me! Fabric line. So you could use the two together to piece up a big quilt top and practice quilting on all the lines throughout!

You can also use this new cheater cloth in the exact same way as the original - cut the blocks apart leaving 1 inch all around, baste, and quilt on the marked lines as Josh has done in all his videos so far.

Click here to learn more about the Cheater Cloth Fabric option for following along with the Building Blocks Quilt Along.

So that's it for this week! Lots of fun, exciting things going on, and make sure to check out the sale on Beginner Free Motion Quilting Fillers DVD!

Let's go quilt,

Leah Day
