Pinmoors are Back!

Published: Wed, 07/23/14

HiĀ ,
We're in the peak of summer, but the weather has thankfully cooled off a bit so we've been tackling lots of new projects for the coming year.

In the quilt shop this week Pinmoors are back on the shelves at a new reduced price! Pick up a 100 pack of Pinmoors now for just $34.00!

Pinmoors are pin anchors and my favorite way to secure the layers of a quilt when basting. They're very easy to use - just push them on the end of a straight pin and they cap the pin and stay in place for as long as you need them.
For basting I use Pinmoors with Clover Flower Pins because they're easy to grip and don't tear up my hands as I'm working on a big quilt. You can get both products together in the Baste Your Quilt Kit for just $45.00.

Save! Buy 4 Baste Your Quilt Kits and get an extra $5 discount on each one - only $40.00 each!

Ask any number of quilters what their least favorite part of quilting is and it's usually basting - the process of layering the quilt top, batting, and backing fabric and securing them together before quilting.

Help us help you: What would you like to see in the future?
We're getting ready to film new videos over the next three months, but before I hit the record button, I'd like your opinion first with a quick summer survey!

This survey is just 16 questions long and will help us gain an idea of what you like - what quilts you're wanting to make, where you want to watch videos, and how long our videos should be.

We're also giving away five copies of 365 Free Motion Quilting Designs books. Enter your name and email address in the survey and you'll have a chance to win a free copy. Winners will be picked on August 1st.

Building Blocks Quilt Along
We are breaking into a new set of designs in our new block, Spinning Square. Here's Leah's first design in the series Straight Lines in a Spinning Square.
Here is Josh's work on Straight Lines.

We are continuing to pick up the pace this week with some all over stippling in our Spinning Square. Check out Josh's old college fraternity T-shirt fabric I used for the center of the block... I think it looks so cool!

All over quilting really is a great way to finish a quilt quickly by adding texture to the surface and securing the layers together, but not throwing loads of time into the design. There will always be those quilts that just need to get together and get done and all-over, larger scale Stippling is a great way to finish them.

Jump into this project and get everything you need - both piecing AND free motion quilting designs in the Building Blocks Quilt Pattern.

Also check out Josh's Stippling to compare how he did this block.

Have you missed any posts from the Building Blocks Quilt Along? Remember you can find ALL the posts and videos shared about this project right here.

So that's it for this week. Don't miss out on the new reduced price of Pinmoors starting this week!

Let's go quilt,

Leah Day
