I just purchased, and read, your new book "How to Piece Perfect Quilts." This is exceptional work that I believe every new, and even experienced, quilter
should read.
I promise, I will never use another piece of unwashed, unprepared fabric again. You've made me a believer. To all of you out there who follow Leah, buy this book. It's pure gold for the price of copper. Thank you for all that you do. ~ Sheri E
This amazing review makes me smile a mile wide. My goal with this book is to help you learn the steps and build the habits so that every seam you piece finishes perfectly. Yes, some
of the steps in this book may be different from how you piece now, but I go beyond just telling you what to do and also explain WHY. You'll also have plenty of opportunity to practice piecing with the five basic skill-building quilts included in the book. So jump right in and learn how to stitch it up a notch with me! Building Blocks Quilt Along
|
Whew! With the launch of a new book it's easy to get distracted from all our other news from the week. In the Building Blocks Quilt Along, we've quilted another beautiful set of basket blocks with Stippling and Echo Shell:
I've been tinkering with a design for a new goddess: Light in Me.I'm now designing almost 100% on computer (Serif Draw Plus or Adobe Illustrator) because it's so much faster than hand drawing. I can set up lines, copy and paste to mirror and rotate
with a few clicks rather than a lot of copying and tracing with a pencil and tracing paper. However, this is still not a speedy process. I've been spending most of the day adding lines, deleting lines, trying out new ideas, adjusting things to fit. It's a bit tedious, but also fun to see the design coming together. When designing any quilt there's only one question I ask: What do I like? Click here to read the rest of the story. So that's it for this week. Don't forget to take advantage of our launch sale and save $6 on How to Piece Perfect Quilts this week only!
