Goodbye Building Blocks, Hello Casual Cam!

Published: Wed, 10/29/14

HiĀ ,
I have some great news today... I'm so happy to announce we've made our most popular book available for online purchase directly from us - 365 Free Motion Quilting Designs!

Inside you will find a high quality of photo of each meticulously stitched design; every single one of the 365 filler designs have been stitched out in painstaking detail, no computerized images here.

Please note this is not a primer on free motion quilting basics: instead, this book is an inspirational companion and the largest collection of free motion quilting designs ever published. This new second edition offers a spiral binding to help the book lay flat next to your sewing machine.

Challenge yourself to memorize--not mark--a new design every day for a year. Stitch the designs exactly as shown or mix it up by creating your own variations. There is no limit to the possibilities!
Here's what a quilter had to say about 365 Free Motion Quilting Designs:

"Leah's idea to create 365 free-motion quilting designs and share them for free on her blog has revolutionised teaching machine quilting forever!

This picture book is designed to be used in conjunction with her terrific website videos on how to quilt each one. Leah's enthusiasm shines through every blog post and encourages new and experienced quilters to have fun with free-motion quilting.

As a machine quilting teacher, I highly recommend this book as an amazing teaching resource."

Farewell Building Blocks!
It's been an amazing 10 month journey through 42 beautiful blocks, but now it's time to trim, connect, and bind our Building Block Quilts!

The following articles were posted this week to help answer any questions you might have about connecting the quilted blocks together:

Quilt Stippling and Echoes in a Slash Star - This is our last design in our last series of blocks and by now you can probably quilt them in your sleep. I wouldn't advise it though!

Quilt As You Go Connecting Building Blocks - The post you've been waiting for all year is finally here! Learn how to trim and connect all the blocks by machine to form your quilt.

How to Bind a Quilt by Machine: This is the LAST POST! Learn how to finish the edges of your quilt with binding attached entirely by machine.

Just in case you're wondering - YES! all these videos and posts will remain online for you to watch and make this quilt anytime. To get started, all you need is a copy of the Building Blocks Quilt Pattern!
Hello Casual Cam!
Since the Building Blocks Quilt Along is over, and the Dancing Butterfly Quilt Along won't start until December, I've decided to take a break from teaching and instead share....whatever.

Seriously! These posts will be whatever I'm working on - sewing, quilting, painting, cooking, shot with little to no prep and no make up. This is me just being myself at home (which is usually a mess) or in my studio (which is ALWAYS a mess). Anyway, this is real life - it's not perfect!

So that's it for this week! Make sure to take advantage of our launch discount and save $7 on 365 Free Motion Quilting Designs this week only!

Let's go quilt,

Leah Day
