Days Are Long, Years Are Short

Published: Wed, 12/10/14

Hi ,

What were you doing this time last year?

With the holidays approaching it's a nice time to stop and reflect on all that has happened over the past twelve months. I often find myself looking back and feeling amazed with all that's happened.

This time last year I was gearing up to start the huge Building Blocks Quilt Along and shooting videos with Josh. That massive ten month project taught Josh and I so much about teaching online, shooting videos together, and how to connect with thousands of quilters daily through Facebook.

Now a year later we've led thousands of quilters through the Building Blocks project and have just launched the next project which you can begin anytime. The new Dancing Butterfly Quilt pattern is already a big hit and I'm really looking forward to teaching you all about fusible applique and beautiful free motion quilting with this new project.
Of course this time of the year always includes decorating, baking cookies, and making gifts, but this year James is writing all the cards and I'm delighting in his creative spelling of "Merry Christmas!" and the sweet messages he keeps leaving us all over the house.

This truly is a wonderful time to stop and reflect on all that has changed. I love the saying "The days are long, but the years are short."  It reminds me to slow down, take more pictures, and enjoy the long days and all that they bring.

Our affordable sewing tables are not included in this promotion, but you'll still save big on the tools and supplies for free motion quilting on your home sewing machine. Here's a few of our most popular products:
Baste your quilts easily with Pinmoors! These simple silicon nuggets that will help you baste your quilts quicker and easier than ever before. They're non-toxic and very easy to use - just push them on the end of a straight pin and they cap the pin and stay in place for as long as you need them.

I love these pin anchors because they're easy on my hands and I can easily pull them out as I fill my quilts in free motion. Click Here to watch a video on how to use Pinmoors.
Be the Queen of Smooth Moves - The queen supreme slider is also another must-have free motion quilting tool in my sewing room.

This super sized slider is double the size of the original slider, making it perfect for quilters with bigger machines wanting to quilt bigger quilts.

Just like the original Supreme Slider, the Queen Supreme is a 100% Teflon sheet designed to make your quilts easier to move and slide smoothly under your needle. The more surface area the Supreme Slider covers, the easier your quilt will move and be to quilt.

Thank YOU for Reading!
I can't let this newsletter end without expressing my sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported us this year by joining in our quilt along, purchasing tools or materials from our shop, or simply cheering us on every day with kind comments and emails.

Josh and I have learned so much this year about teaching online and the joy of interacting with quilters around the world. It's not always easy - creating massive quilt along projects takes months of preparation and planning.

I'm not kidding when I describe feeling pregnant with the Dancing Butterfly quilt for the past 9 months! It's a relief to finally have this pattern launched and already so many people excited to start this new journey with us.

Ultimately it just feels amazing to be so appreciated and supported in all that we do. Thank you for reading, cheering us on, asking questions, and keeping our life interesting and exciting. We love working together and sharing our lives, and our quilts, with you every day!

Let's go quilt,

Leah Day
