Awesome Applique and Pretty Quilting Design

Published: Wed, 04/01/15

Hi ,

Last week Josh and I celebrated our tenth anniversary and took off for a wonderful trip to Savannah, Georgia. We attended Quilt Fest Savannah and had a great time wandering the historic district and eating great food. Click Here to read more about the trip.

Right before leaving on our trip we received a huge box of No Sewing Until You Quilt It books. This book teaches my favorite turned-edge applique technique that is super easy and quick to construct even large quilts.

We've been having trouble keeping these applique books in stock lately, so definitely grab them while they last!

We offer No Sewing Until You Quilt It bundled with 1 yard of french fuse so you can jump right in and make your first No-Sew quilt. Click Here to find this Applique Book + French Fuse Combo for just $25.00.
New Free Motion Quilting Design
This week we've learned a new free motion quilting design called Coin Chain which is hands down one of my most favorite designs from the Dancing Butterfly Quilt.
I love how the big circles stand out on the fabric and how easy this is to quilt in the wings and border of the butterfly. Click here to learn how to quilt Coin Chain.
Happy Baby Fitted Crib Sheet Pattern
Are you expecting a new baby in your family? Back when I was pregnant with my son James (more than 8 years ago now!) part of my nesting ritual was to sew all of the items for his nursery. When it came to the fitted crib sheets, I knew I could construct sheets that fit better and lasted longer than what I was finding in stores.

I ended up creating four sets of crib sheets that lasted through all of James's crib days and have just been passed to another family to enjoy. The sheets fit wonderfully and we never had an issue with them slipping off the mattress.

Now I've turned this project into a pattern so you can make fitted crib sheets too! Using just 2 yards of fabric you can cut and sew fitted crib sheets yourself! Pick up this new pattern right here for just $1.99.
Last Call for MQX East
Next week we're driving up to Manchester, NH for MQX East to teach and enjoy a fabulous show.  I'm bringing ALL of my goddess quilts created over the last 8 years for a lecture Friday night from 4 - 5:30 that's free with admission to the show. I'd love to see you there! Click Here for more details about MQX East.

Keep an eye out for our next newsletter in 2 weeks. We've got a big announcement in the works and can't wait to share the details about a big event coming soon!

Let's go quilt,

Leah Day
