Hi ,
June is here and it's time to kick off the fun new T-Shirt Quilt Along! I've decided
to share a free, open ended quilt along during the summer and finally kick myself in gear to finish the two large t-shirt quilts I've had in progress for months.
I'm working on two quilts - a super scrappy, crazy rainbow quilt and a white on white quilt. Josh just about had a fit over the rainbow version (he's not that into bright colors), but I love how cheerful and fun this is going to look on
our bed!
So how is this a quilt along? We're going to quilt the blocks together!
I'm wanting to dig into walking foot style quilting and experiment with a variety of new ideas and designs. The 18 inch t-shirt blocks are the perfect project to try out many ideas and explore walking foot quilting in depth.
Since you may need to pick up some tools and materials for this quilt along, we've decided to run a sale in the Leah
Day Quilt Shop!
Save on all quilting tools, feet, patterns, books and DVDs *Excludes Sewing Tables and Inserts
I'm happy to have these back on the shelf as it's the perfect pencil for producing a fine, bright light that's easy to follow, but also easy to remove after quilting.
This particular marking pencil is perfect for marking darker fabrics and it includes plenty of ceramic lead and a long eraser which means it will last through many
quilts.
Another restocked item is our Butterfly Thread set - a beautiful
collection of thread colors including pink, purple, yellow, green, and blue in bright, vibrant colors. This set of 1000 meter spools of Isacord will last through many quilts and cover the surface with gorgeous color.
I used these twelve colors to quilt my Dancing Butterfly Quilt and found all of the colors to be very versatile and easy to use in other quilts. If you're looking for bright, fun colors to play with this summer, this is the set for
you!
So Long Dancing Butterfly!

We are on the final design, Bubble Fern! Quilters on our facebook page have really enjoyed the flow of this one. It's one of of my favorites in the Butterfly Quilt Along too.
While this is the last design video we're sharing, please remember it's never too late to join Dancing Butterfly or our previous project, Building
Blocks. These quilt alongs will remain online and active forever so you'll always be able to join in the fun and work at your own pace.
That's it for this week! I really hope you're excited about the new walking foot videos in the T-Shirt Quilt Along. This will be a fun, easy project to learn with together and produce a wonderful memory quilt (or two!)
Let's go quilt,
Leah Day
