Playing with Quilted Embroidery

Published: Wed, 04/29/15

HiĀ ,

Today I am so excited to being sharing my newest project, a beautiful chakra wall hanging you too can make with my Expressions of Texture CD!

I love yoga and try my best to practice daily. Over the years I've met some of my best friends through yoga and meditation classes and this spring I wanted to create a nice gift for three special women in my life.

Creating a yoga-themed wall hanging inspired by the energy chakras in the body sounded like a perfect project that all of them would enjoy.
I choose to create this project using machine embroidery so it would be quick to create while I was working on other things. It ended up being a much faster project than I was expecting - I was able to stitch out all the designs for 3 wall hangings in one short afternoon!

Creative Adventures
This week I've been jumping into many creative adventures and sharing the news on the Free Motion Quilting Project.

Design #19 - Queen of Hearts - This beautiful heart design flows over your quilting space so easily and will fill any style quilt with beautiful texture. I really like the idea of quilting this design over a baby quilt and filling it with lots of love!

A New Studio Just for Making Videos - About a month ago I finally put my foot down. It's just not possible to shoot nice videos in a house filled with working people banging around all day!
Slow and Steady Art Quilt Journal - Each month of this year I'm creating a small quilted journal page to remind me of a lesson or event in my life. This month was a reminder to slow down and take it easy because "Slow and Steady Wins the Race."

That's it for this week! What do you think about our machine embroidered chakra wall hanging? Would you be interested in seeing more videos about machine embroidery?

It was a really fun tutorial to put together so I'm interested to hear if you enjoyed it and would like to see more!

Let's go quilt
