Get Lost in Beautiful Quilting

Published: Wed, 07/08/15

Hi ,

I'm getting lost in beautiful quilting this week, surrounded by my king sized Salsa Verde quilt!
For the past three weeks I've been filming new videos and knocking out loads of quilting on the king sized Salsa Verde Quilt.

I'm so excited to announce that the videos are complete and we're finishing up the final editing this week. Our new video workshop Quilting a King on Your Home Machine should be released next Wednesday!

Christmas in July?
Do you get started on your Christmas quilts and projects this early? I'm not quite in the habit of it yet, which is why I'm always caught with unfinished projects in December!

One fun project I actually finished last year was this beautiful Christmas Table Runner created with designs from the Expressions of Texture Embroidery CD.

I created this project using machine embroidery so it would be quick to create while I was working on other projects. You can create a variety of fun projects like table runners, placemats and more with only the push of a button to stitch out the beautiful designs.

Quilt Easy Rays
We've moved our walking foot posts to Wednesday so we can call it Walking Foot Wednesday.  There are so many creative ways to use your walking foot, and I'm loving the challenge of coming up with new designs in our t-shirt quilt project.

I've shared a super easy machine quilting design called Rays at LeahDay.com. This simple design involves quilting straight lines from the center of your quilt block.
Forgive Yourself in Light up Your Life
I have a Light Up Your Life video for this week that's all about personal forgiveness - learning how to build compassion and empathy for YOURSELF.

I shared this on the Fourth of July, Independence Day in the United States. Then I got to thinking about it and I think this is the best time to share this. What better day to learn about forgiveness and declare a personal cease-fire than on a night of fireworks and bright colors?

Crinkly Clamshells #444
We are on number 444 for our free motion filler designs!

We had a great time machine quilting Egyptian Fans last week so this week I'm playing with more curvy shapes to make a super cute quilting design called Crinkly Clamshells.

Crinkly Clamshells is a simple Echoing Design, but this design starts with a wiggly, crinkly shape (maybe the sea creature within the shell?) Because the echoes are simple half or quarter circle shapes, the design stacks easily together creating a cute texture for your quilts.

So that's it for this week! If you're feeling the Christmas spirit and ready to start stitching some fun, quick projects for the holidays, definitely check out the Expressions of Texture CD on sale this week.

Let's go quilt!
