Hi ,
We're getting into the dog days of summer with high heat, beautiful vegetables from the garden, and
long days with sunlight late into the evening.
I've been enjoying a burst of productivity this week by following my creative impulses wherever they lead. Make sure to keep reading to learn about the projects I love working on and how I've muscled through a particularly challenging project as well.
This design does have a lot of steps - stitch a ziggy line, form a square shape, fill the square with a circle and spiral. Travel stitch out and echo around the box and zigzag line multiple times. Whew! It's a lot to remember and may seem pretty complicated if you're just getting started. Just remember there are plenty of super easy designs on the Free Motion Quilting Project you can play with as well. Free shipping on the first is coming up this Saturday!
From 8 am to 8 pm Eastern Standard Time, you can place an order and have it shipped for FREE
within the US.
This would be a great time to pick up heavier items like the Queen Supreme Kit which contains the three most essential tools Leah uses every day for free motion quilting, all shipped to
you for FREE.
It's also a perfect time to stock up on Steam-a-Seam fusible web, which is thin, pressure sensitive, paper backed web designed to permanently bond sheer, lightweight
fabrics.
In this comprehensive 60 page pattern you will learn step-by-step how to piece, applique, and free motion quilt each block of the Dancing Butterfly Quilt. and wear beautifully.
* We would love to be able to offer this monthly free shipping to
everyone, but with the steadily rising cost of international shipping we simply cannot afford it.
Don't forget to come shopping on Saturday to get free shipping!
Quilting the Dream Goddess
|
Take a look at my new quilt, the Dream Goddess! This quilt has been ready to free motion quilt for several months, but kept getting pushed behind for other projects.
This week I finally got her on the machine and finally put thread to fabric as I began filling the surface of the quilt with many beautiful designs.
I'm filling her face first, then working outward to fill in the rows of feathers in her hair.
I Don't Want to Work on That...
|
Wow! It seems I really struck a chord with everyone last week on my Light up Your Life post Stop Hoarding, Start Creating. This week has been one of my most productive and fun this year because I followed my creative inspiration each time it nudged me.
I finished the acrylic painting and moved on to bead embroidery, pictured at right.
This is a small Express
Your Love goddess designed to be filled with beads and embroidery thread. Yep, I've been working on it since our quilt along in 2013 and I expect it's going to take quite a lot time to finish.
I don't often want to work on this panel because it's so time consuming. I can easily throw a few hours at this project and only have an inch of space to show for my hard work.
So that's it for this week! Don't forget that on Saturday, August 1st we will be offering free shipping all day for orders placed
within the United States.
Let's go quilt,
Leah Day |
