Feeling Inspired by Autumn?

Published: Wed, 09/16/15

Hi ,

Monday morning the temperature dipped into the low 50s and we had our first chilly night of autumn. The weather has been gorgeous and the leaves are just starting to change.

I love this time of the year when the air is slightly chilly, but the sun very warm. It's such a refreshing feeling and always puts me in the mood to bake muffins and quilt beautiful projects.

This week I pulled out my die cutter and cut out some simple pumpkin shapes to play with on the sewing machine.
I quilted this small pumpkin with Snake Paisley and a new design that our fans on Facebook collectively agreed should be called Twisted Tendril.

This super cute block is fun in itself, but what if you had several blocks pieced together with bold sashing fabric in between - what would you quilt in the sashing?

You can answer that question  with our sashing-focused DVD: Free Motion Quilting From Flames to Feathers, which is on sale this week for only $9.99.
In this DVD, you'll learn how to quilt 17 designs that work especially well in the sashing spaces of a quilt. Those narrow 2-inch wide spaces can be rather tricky. Do you quilt them or not? Which designs work best?

Discover many ways to quilt your sashing and stitch your quilts up a notch with this DVD! We only  have 100 copies of this DVD left in stock and we're not planning to reorder more. Click here to pick up your DVD for just $9.99.
How to Crochet a Granny Square Block
I know, I know, CROCHET!?

The cooler weather always puts me in the mood for hand work projects and I love the feeling of soft yarn sliding through my fingers.

I learned how to crochet my first Granny Square Block back when I was just 7 years old, and I really wish there had been a video to watch and learn how to stitch it!

This remains one of my favorite designs to crochet because it's so easy and quick to create. Click Here to learn how to crochet a Granny Square Block so you can learn how to make this too!

Yes, I've definitely kept my love for knitting, crochet, spinning, and more funky artistic techniques hidden away these last few years. Would you like to see more videos covering a wide range of crafts? What are you interested in learning more about?

I'm continually chasing down the hungry monster that is my inspiration, and I'd always like to know what you're interested in and wanting to learn.

Off to quilt more pumpkins,

Leah Day
